Owner Spotlight – The People Behind The Business
MyPhone has been a solid business fixture in the Westman area for coming up forty years. Their ongoing focus in serving the needs of the community, in helping customers to adapt to new and ever changing technology, has proven invaluable and has allowed them to continually grow and expand.
In 1983, John Falloon started MyPhone, as he stepped into the ever changing world of telecommunications. Until 2017, the company was aligned with MTS as a dealer, but with the changes in the telecommunication sector in Manitoba, they became a Telus Authorized Dealer.
In 2014, MyPhone expanded their operation into Virden, when they acquired Kinnaird Electronics and then opened up another location at the Corral Center, to service the ever growing Brandon area. Today they have four locations; Virden, the Corral Center, the Brandon Shopper’s Mall and their corporate location in downtown Brandon.
In 2016, Samantha Falloon (John’s daughter) took over the day to day operation of the company and shortly after was joined by Lisa Rowley in leading the overall company, just in time for the changeover to Telus.
Samantha, Lisa and the entire team at MyPhone remain focused in helping their customers to take advantage of everything technology has to offer. With this in mind, in 2019 they acquired Juggernaut Computers to be able to help bring a service component to the already impressive group of products offered as part of Telus.
If you are a retail customers, they have everything from tablets and smart watches, cell and smart phones and plans, home automation and security and so much more. On the business side, the possibilities are endless with fleet tracking and monitoring, security and automation, Telus Business Plans to reduce your operating costs and Exclusive Partner Programs.
Recently they redeveloped their website, to make it super easy for you to switch your phone, bring in your number from another carrier, book an online or in-person meeting, or simply just chat to a real person when you access the chat function on their site. (We happen to like how funny and friendly the people are behind the technology…just sayin’!)
Something we think is super fun is if you follow their Facebook page, on Tuesdays they introduce all kinds of neat tips for smart phone users. Things you would never know…so much fun!
