Accelerate Your Business Success

Whether you are a business owner or a leader in an organization, your role is to define and then achieve success. In fact the more of it you can create in your organization, the more “successful” you will be in the role.

Here are three things to consider, that will help you achieve success faster:

  • Get clear on what your end goal looks like. Too many times, people (including you) jump into a project without really being clear on what you want the end result to be. You have a vague idea, but nothing definitive. You figure you will let it evolve as it happens. What this creates is a result, either limited by the amount of time you had or the amount of money you were willing to spend. Naturally, you go into the project with the best of intentions, but get caught up in things that don’t really matter in the end. When you spend the time up front to define success, it helps you to make sure you stay on track with all your resources. It cuts out the “rabbit trails” and will make sure you get to the result quickly.
  • Recognize your strengths and your weaknesses. Successful people understand themselves. They know there is no need to be good at everything, when you are exceptional at a few things and they know how to deploy it. There is a saying that if you are the smartest person in the room, then you are in the wrong room and the same can be said for your skills. If you believe you are good or have to be good at everything, then you are limiting the success of you and your organization. There is no doubt that people can be good at many things, but it takes time for anyone to really master a skill. If you spread your time across many, then you are likely only “okay” at most. Defining your weaknesses, means you can then find these strengths in your team.
  • Utilize experts with proven results. Success creates success. There are some people who believe that success only comes from doing it on your own. This works, if you are only ever looking to create a few successes. They tell themselves things like I can afford it, or I can’t find it as a means to for going it alone. The truth of the matter is that there are people who have already done, what you are looking to do. Likely they will cost you money, but in many cases, their cost will be offset by the results you can yield quickly. For example, you could design your own website and then try and figure out how to get people to it. It could take you years to figure out SEO, ranking, pay-per-click, above the fold marketing, long form, etc. Or you could hire a company who has a proven website sales and get your products to market, much faster. Hire real proven experts and they will more than pay for themselves.

Success comes from being able to dream big enough and in getting clear on how to make it happen with the least amount of effort. Don’t be the corner of your success. You are only one person, with the limitations that come with being just one person. Success grows when you grow, so don’t be afraid to push success beyond yourself to really succeed.
